Base pay range $155,000.00/yr - $240,000.00/yr

Position Overview The Director of Finance at this firm will be a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the firm's financial operations, corporate finance strategy, and internal controls. This role is central to ensuring financial integrity, operational scalability, and alignment with their long-term growth objectives.

The ideal candidate will bring a blend of strategic insight and hands-on execution across finance, accounting, compliance, risk management, and technology, while fostering cross-functional collaboration and driving continuous improvement.

About the Company They are a leading private credit asset management firm specializing in asset-based lending (ABL). Based in South Carolina, this firm manages capital on behalf of institutional and private investors nationwide. They deliver flexible credit solutions to middle-market companies, structuring loans secured by receivables, inventory, equipment, and other assets to unlock working capital and fuel growth.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Leadership:

Lead the firm's financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning, ensuring alignment with business goals.

Oversee all financial reporting, accounting, and regulatory compliance, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the investment manager.

Coordinate with the Investor Relations Team to ensure the financial reporting and accounting for the commingled funds is accurate and delivered to investors in a timely manner.

Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records and systems, maintaining best practices for internal controls.

Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, insurance brokers and financial institutions.

Manage banking relationships and optimize capital structure to ensure financial flexibility and cost efficiency.

Provide executive leadership in the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and systems.

Conduct financial performance analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency.

Oversee cash flow management, capital allocation, and liquidity planning to support investment activities and operational needs.

Leadership & Development:

Lead strategic initiatives and projects to enhance business performance, including mergers, acquisitions, or new product offerings.

Ensure that financial strategies support the firm's growth, risk management, and regulatory compliance goals.

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a responsive, client centric, collaborative and accountable culture.

Implement performance metrics and continuous development programs for the finance team.

Work with HR to ensure that the firm attracts, retains, and develops top talent within the finance department.

Evaluate and implement financial technology solutions to improve reporting, analytics, and operational workflows.

Collaborate with IT and operations to ensure systems integration supports scalable growth and data integrity.

Qualifications Required:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

6-10 years of progressive experience in financial leadership roles, preferably within asset management, private credit, or investment banking.

Strong understanding of asset-based lending, fund accounting, and institutional investor reporting.

Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting tools, and accounting software (e.g., Investran, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).

Preferred:

CPA strongly preferred.

Experience in a high-growth or entrepreneurial environment.

Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and implementing financial systems.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to senior stakeholders.
