JOB SUMMARY The Director Finance Performance and Optimization will be responsible for driving finance transformation and business process optimization initiatives while also leading strategic projects that enhance operational efficiency and support business growth and the company’s strategy. This role combines financial management expertise with planning and project execution, ensuring that finance operations align with the organization’s long‑term objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Drives efficiency and effectiveness by streamlining finance and cross‑department processes, proposing process redesign, automation and implementation of supporting systems

Identifies inefficiencies and develops solutions aimed at reducing costs and enhancing business performance through thorough assessments of company operations, finances, and strategies

Monitors impact of implemented changes to ensure continuous improvement and stability

Develops process documentation and supports process owners during change management process

Drives and oversees financial and cross‑functional projects/initiatives, incl. major digitalization and strategic projects ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives

Establishes and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) for both finance operations and strategic projects to evaluate effectiveness and drive improvements

Drives, in collaboration with FP&A and Controlling teams, standardization, automation and digitalization of reports and KPIs to ensure all business stakeholders have direct access to relevant financial information

Program manages global and local system implementations related to the finance department

Leads and oversees strategic projects within function and across multiple functional teams, from conceptualization to planning, initiation through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget

Gathers data through research, interviews, and data analysis to develop and support recommendations

Monitors performance of day‑to‑day finance operations and functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and accounting, ensuring high‑quality service delivery

Interacts/collaborates with local/global Finance teams as well as with other departments to ensure accounting compliance with policies, procedures, and internal controls

Performs quality controls and auditing of finance department processes and procedures to ensure compliance with guidelines

Follows up on open finance‑related internal audit findings and provides support to other Finance teams in audit‑related topics

Ensures accurate and timely financial reporting and analyses, compliance with regulatory requirements, and adherence to internal controls

Facilitates workshops and strategic discussions

Identifies and mitigates financial and operational risks associated with process improvement activities and strategic initiatives

Assesses and responds to queries from the local/global team that are related to its scope of work

Champions financial awareness within the organization, including coaching and training of colleagues and direct reports

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field

Master’s degree or MBA is preferred

Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in finance and accounting, with a strong focus on process improvement and project management

Proven leadership experience, with a track record of managing teams and driving strategic initiatives

Strong understanding of financial principles, regulations, and best practices

Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels

Experience with ERP systems and financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle)

Knowledge of compliance regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and risk management practices

Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are highly desirable

Experience in change management and organizational transformation projects

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS

Demonstrated effectiveness monitoring and driving financial and operational performance

Demonstrated experience in building teams, processes, and models from the ground up

Demonstrated experience leading strategic/complex/cross‑functional initiatives

Demonstrated excellent business acumen and data‑driven decision making

Ability to lead teams in identifying and resolving complex business problems in a timely manner

Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to regularly communicate with the CEO, CFO, Executive Committee members, and Global Finance leadership

Demonstrated effectiveness in “managing by influence” those of higher title and in different functional groups

Excellent problem solving and organization skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills with attention to detail

Excellent project management skills in development, coordination, and management of project plans
