Position Description FLSA : Exempt POSITION TITLE : Group Sales Manager DIVISION/DEPARTMENT : Sales & Marketing REPORTS TO : Director of Sales & Marketing SUPERVISES : None DATE (Revised) : December 30, 2024 BASIC FUNCTIONS : The Group Sales Manager is responsible for generating conference business from a national market, maximizing sales, developing potential markets, and sound administration of assigned responsibilities through delegation and attention to detail.

Manage assigned responsibilities with sensible delegation and attention to detail.

Collaborate with internal teams to align with property goals and guest services.

Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS : EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum two years of college; degree desirable.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Prefer experience in hotel sales or related industry, preferably resort experience.

Aggressive, outgoing, and self-motivating with a pleasant personality.

5+ years selling to corporate and/or incentive meeting planners.

Essential Functions Make personal visits as needed to target areas and call on companies and associations in assigned markets.

Book meetings, conferences, and social events from assigned areas.

Dedicate the majority of time to direct telephone sales.

Maintain old account files and solicit new accounts; respond to correspondence and track follow-up dates.

Arrange site inspections and follow through; attend trade shows and industry functions as appropriate.

Maintain constant contact with corporate and association meeting planners; sustain industry associations.

Develop new accounts and stay abreast of industry trends; forecast and recap information accurately.

Set up and conduct site inspections for the entire property.

Occasional weekends/evenings based on demand; periodic travel overnight.

Meet sales goals as outlined by the Director of Sales & Marketing on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Experience in selling to Southeast, Midwest, and Northeast markets.

Marginal Functions Perform other related duties as requested by the Director of Sales & Marketing.

Practice safety standards and report unsafe conditions.

Compensation The compensation for this position is $70,000.00 /Yr. to $80,000.00 /Yr., based on qualifications and experience.
