
Residency Program Associate Director, Family Medicine

Responsibilities
Assists the Program Director in implementation and coordination of the residency training program according to appropriate guidelines as dictated by the ACGME
Serves as a faculty physician in the residency program providing a broad scope of care to patients both in direct patient care and in precepting and overseeing the residents
Provides teaching and mentoring to the residents, and leads organization of the Family Medicine Residency's mentorship program
Assists with short and long-term planning for the Family Medicine Residency Program and its future endeavors
Assists in the evaluation of residents and partners with leaders of the Clinical Competency Committee (CCC) and Facilitating Advancement in Residency Committee (FAIR)
Assists in evaluation of faculty and leads faculty development efforts
Assists with resident and faculty recruitment
Assists with rotation development
Provides teaching and evaluation to medical students
Participates in teaching conferences, community service events, and other committees as needed by the Program
Maintains Board Certification through regular CME activities and Board exams
Leads efforts with Quality Improvement/ Practice Management projects each year
Attends assigned conferences and meetings
Provides on-call responsibility for resident back-up on an average of 1 night/week and 1 weekend day per 4 weeks
Qualifications
Board certification by the ABFM or AOBFP
Licensed in the State of Virginia
Valid DEA certificate, required
BLS, ACLS certification, required
Two years of experience as program leadership in Graduate Medical Education, required
Genuine desire to teach and encourage developing physicians and provide leadership
