Regional Sales Vice President – Chicago market
who has successfully sold retirement plan administration and record-keeping services in the small and emerging corporate retirement plan market. You should be able to work closely with financial advisors and strategic partners to build a sales pipeline, win retirement plans, and develop strategic relationships. You should feel comfortable on the phone cold calling prospects as well as developing deep, meaningful relationships with financial advisors. What you will be doing
You will be the main driver for gaining distribution and converting retirement plans in your sales region. You will also provide leadership, deep expertise, and support to the rest of the team. Day-to-day responsibilities include: Identify and successfully convert strategic partnerships with RIA Aggregators, Broker/Dealers, TPAs, Payroll Providers, Banks, and other partners in your sales region Develop a retirement plan sales pipeline in your region through key relationships and prospecting, including cold calling Convert retirement plan opportunities into sales through a repeatable, scalable process in partnership with internal sales Provide product demos and understand the retirement plan record-keeping, administration, and technology inside and out Build a robust process to hand off sales to Vestwell’s implementation and client success teams to create a great client experience and generate repeat business Manage and deliver on plan sales and revenue targets Be accountable for plan sponsor revenue generation in your region Requirements
The Necessities 5+ years in a B2B sales role, preferably in retirement, FinTech, wealth, or a related industry Intimate knowledge of how retirement plan advisors build, manage, and grow their practice Ability to articulate partnerships across multiple channels Track record of managing and leading sales regions and exceeding targets Ability to carry a plan sale from prospecting through conversion Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating top-notch selling environments and processes Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience developing and cold calling prospect lists The Extras Experience selling retirement plan record-keeping and administration is a strong plus Previous coverage of the small and emerging corporate retirement plan market Understanding of what a record-keeper, TPA, and 3(16) administrator does Any financial certifications are a plus (e.g., Series 7 and 66 or Series 65 from an RIA, CFA, etc.) This role is remote-based but we are prioritizing candidates in the Chicago, IL market. Compensation
A base salary range of $90K–$100K plus variable OTE. Eligible for new hire equity. Salary bands are based on New York and similar metro areas and may differ by location. Our benefits
