The Department Manager oversees the food service program at a single site, ensuring high food quality standards, inventory management, food safety, and customer service. Responsibilities include: Leading and supporting the food service team to meet quality and safety standards. Maintaining accurate records of income, expenditures, food supplies, personnel, and equipment using HCSG software. Conducting staff training, quality control, and in-service sessions; performing roles of dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher as needed. Communicating directives from client managers, building occupants, and administrators effectively. Ensuring safety protocols, proper use of cleaning solutions, and reporting equipment issues. Following infection control, universal precautions, and handwashing procedures. Maintaining attendance, punctuality, and timely task completion. Representing HCSG positively through courteous interactions with staff, residents, and guests. Performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Associate’s degree or higher in food service management or hospitality (preferred). Two years of experience in food production/service and supervision (preferred). Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification (preferred or required by law). Must obtain Food Protection Manager (FPM) within 14 days of employment. Must obtain Food Service Manager (FSM) and LTC-FSM certifications within 60 days. Strong communication skills. Positive attitude and effective communication with staff and leadership. Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies. Ability to lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods. Ability to perform routine tasks and work around food and cleaning products. Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting. Residency within the service area is required. Ready to Join Us?
