
Relationship Banker - Mason

Overview Through a consultative approach, the Relationship Banker strives to understand members’ unique financial needs, provide the best product solutions and foster relationships that impact member experience.
Essential Responsibilities
Greet and direct members as they enter the branch
Uncover members’ financial goals through consultative conversations
Advise members on GECU products and services that help achieve desired outcomes
Manage a book of business that consistently meets sales and service goals through conversations and outbound calls
Open and close various types of depository accounts using required systems and policies
Perform account maintenance activities (address, name changes, etc.)
Investigate and resolve member account issues, collaborating with internal team members
Conduct teller transactions including transfers, deposits, withdrawals, loan payments and others
Responsible for cash‑handling activities
Facilitate the consumer loan application process: recommend products, interview, evaluate credit reports, collect documents for underwriting
Facilitate member loan closings, explain documentation and notarize when required
Perform opening, closing and other branch servicing duties; drawer & vault balancing, coin machine and ITM servicing with safety protocol
Review accounts daily for quality control
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
Minimum two years of customer service experience
Minimum one year of experience working in a financial institution or related industry
Basic understanding of FI products and services
Experience in consultative conversations; proficient in opening and closing accounts
Experience analyzing financial data including credit reports
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to create an exceptional member experience
Good communication skills, written and verbal, to explain products effectively
Ability to function well in a fast‑paced environment
Ability to learn and maintain proficiency in multiple computer systems, including Microsoft Office and credit‑union systems
Good problem‑solving skills to evaluate information and find quick solutions
