About the Company Leading national ultra-high-net-worth wealth advisory firm is looking to add a Director of Financial Reporting and Accounting Policy to their growing team.
Responsibilities
Financial Consolidation: Support the consolidation of international entities, ensuring consistency of accounting policies and accurate assessment of consolidated financial performance.
Reporting Infrastructure: Assist in the implementation and enhancement of financial reporting tools to strengthen transparency and efficiency across global operations.
Technical Accounting: Prepare and review technical accounting analyses and policy memoranda for significant transactions, including acquisitions, capital structuring, and other strategic initiatives.
Valuation and Performance Analysis: Calculate internal valuations and share class returns across the global group to support management reporting and decision-making.
Integration Activities: Contribute to the financial integration of international entities within the consolidated group structure.
Internal Controls: Support ICFR activities by testing the design and operating effectiveness of key controls, documenting control frameworks, and assessing financial reporting risks to ensure appropriate mitigations are in place.
Qualifications
Professional Designation: U.S. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required; equivalent international designations (e.g., Canadian, European, or other recognized foreign certifications) will be considered.
Professional Experience: Prior experience in a Big 4 accounting firm or other reputable public accounting environment strongly preferred.
Technical Expertise: Minimum of five (5) years of experience analyzing and accounting for complex financial arrangements, including financial instruments, share-based compensation, and business combinations, with a demonstrated understanding of their strategic and financial implications.
Internal Controls Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR), including risk assessment, control design, and testing for operating effectiveness.
Analytical Acumen: Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to assess detailed financial information in the context of the organization’s broader strategic objectives.
Professional Judgment: Proven ability to work independently to resolve complex issues, while exercising sound judgment on when to elevate matters to senior leadership.
