Overview The Branch Loan Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the branch’s production pipeline by assisting with the management and coordination of fully originated loans. Working closely with Loan Officers and Loan Officer Associates, this position ensures loan files meet underwriting guidelines and are complete prior to submission. The Branch Loan Coordinator also serves as a liaison between the origination and processing teams and communicates directly with borrowers to collect required documentation, ensuring a smooth and timely loan process.
Responsibilities
Review loan applications for completeness and accuracy; provide feedback as needed.
Meet with borrowers to sign disclosures after the file has been fully negotiated by a licensed Loan Originator; collect necessary documentation, conditions, required paperwork, and applicable fees.
Audit loan files to ensure all required documentation is complete and accurate; issue borrower checklists with due dates for outstanding items.
Accurately calculate borrower income to determine qualification.
Collaborate with the origination team to address questions regarding loan programs, income calculations, and qualification criteria.
Ensure accurate data entry in the Loan Origination System (LOS) in compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
Troubleshoot file issues, bottlenecks, and qualifying challenges throughout the loan process.
Respond to borrower inquiries regarding loan application status to maintain a high level of customer service.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED is required.
Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience as a Loan Officer, Underwriter, or Processor in the mortgage industry is preferred.
Prior experience in a customer service-focused role is strongly preferred.
Mortgage Loan Origination License is preferred.
Solid understanding of federal, state, and local regulations related to all types of mortgage loans.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and mortgage loan origination software (e.g., Encompass).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent follow-up and follow-through abilities.
High attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism under pressure.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
