Certifies/recertifies women, infants, and children to participate in the WIC Program. Provides nutrition assessment and counseling for WIC clients, and documents counseling in client records on the same day of service using the SOAP format. Develops and implements a nutrition care plan appropriate for each client. Selects, develops, and evaluates client education materials, including preparing bulletin boards and conducting group instruction. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to use a computer, printer, and calculator Ability to use program-related computer software Ability to follow oral and written instructions Ability to perform anthropometric and hemoglobin tests for WIC clients using appropriate biohazard, safety, and WIC procedures Knowledge of dietetic practice Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition/Dietetics from an accredited college or university as required by the Florida state WIC program. Registered Dietitian or Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist outlined in Chapter 468, Part X, Florida Statutes, or be eligible to practice dietetics in accordance with Chapter 64B8-40, Florida Administrative Code. Driver’s license and transportation Preferred
