Position Description Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Williston, Vermont. Benefits

Hourly Pay: $29.50 per hour

Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained up to $700

Quarterly Bonus: Up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)

Sign On Bonus: $1250 at 30 days and $1250 at 90 days

Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off

Hours: Mid Shift 11:30 am – 8:00 pm

Annual Merit Pay increases every year

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree or technical certifications (preferred)

Basic tools required

Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake, tire work)

At least 2 years of classroom training and work experience (preferred)

Valid commercial driver license (CDL) Class A (preferred)

Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire

Pass a Ryder drug test

Pass a DOT physical

Pass a Ryder road test

Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

Responsibilities

Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties

Perform standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections and repairs

Perform preventive maintenance

Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, using diagnostic computer when applicable

Identify root cause of basic failures and perform required repairs

Replace defective components as instructed

Perform facility maintenance duties

Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint

Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation

Work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)

Perform other support duties as required (e.g., Service Island support)
