Senior Structural Engineer (with PE)

– CCI Engineering & Construction is expanding its workforce and is seeking a highly experienced engineer to lead and contribute to the design, analysis, detailing, and quality assurance of diverse building projects. This position will report to our office location in Arlington, TN.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $135,000 annually

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (selected highlights):

Lead the structural design, analysis, and modeling of building systems using industry‑standard software and tools

Develop and review structural systems including foundations, steel, concrete, masonry, and wood framing

Serve as Engineer of Record, preparing, reviewing, and sealing construction documents as required

Provide senior‑level technical oversight and quality assurance for structural calculations, drawings, and specifications

Perform and oversee field inspections, job site visits, and inspection reports as needed

Maintain and foster relationships with existing clients, ensuring all project requirements, schedules, and deliverables are met

Collaborate with architects, engineers, designers, and internal departments to ensure structural feasibility, constructability, and compliance with building codes and regulatory requirements

Mentor, train, and foster the professional growth of junior engineers and design staff

Support proposal development, scope definition, and technical reviews as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

Active Professional Engineer (PE) License (any state)

Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in structural engineering design for building projects

Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., RAM, RISA, ETABS, SAP2000, or similar)

Advanced knowledge of structural design principles, materials, and construction methods

Thorough understanding of applicable building codes and standards (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, etc.)

Demonstrated ability to lead projects and provide technical direction

Excellent problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and sound engineering judgment

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including client‑facing interaction

Additional Qualifying Factors:

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre‑employment drug screening (post‑accepted offer) and have acceptable background check results.

If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.

This position requires the ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co‑workers and clients. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining the physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; frequent opportunity to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of up to 35 pounds.

Must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to: hard hats, steel‑toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Must always maintain a constant state of mental alertness.

Working Conditions:

Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise.
