Job Purpose and Impact
The Senior Shipment Execution Specialist will ensure timely and accurate execution of export shipments from origin to destination, in compliance with contractual terms, customer requirements, and regulatory standards. Act as the key liaison between internal teams, carriers, and external stakeholders to deliver seamless export operations.
Key Accountabilities 1. Shipment Planning & Coordination
Review customer orders and Incoterms (FOB, CIF, etc.) to determine responsibilities.
Coordinate container bookings with carriers and confirm space allocation.
Align with warehouse teams for cargo readiness and loading schedules.
2. Documentation & Compliance
Ensure compliance with export regulations, customs requirements, and trade documentation standards.
Troubleshoot Shipping Instructions (SI), Verified Gross Mass (VGM), and customs issues.
3. Monitoring
Track container movements from empty pick-up to full gate-in at port.
Monitor vessel schedules, cut-off times, and ensure timely loading.
Update shipment status in ERP/TMS systems and share visibility reports with stakeholders.
4. Stakeholder Communication
Act as the primary contact for carriers, forwarders, and customers during execution.
Resolve operational issues such as delays, space constraints, or documentation discrepancies.
Provide proactive updates on shipment milestones and exceptions.
5. Financial & Cost Control
Validate carrier invoices for extra or incidental charges and ensure correct billing terms (Prepaid/Collect).
Support cost optimization initiatives and monitor demurrage/detention exposure.
6. Continuous Improvement
Identify process gaps and propose solutions for efficiency and accuracy.
Maintain KPIs for on-time shipment execution and OTIF (On-Time In-Full) metrics.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred, but candidates from any discipline will be considered.
Proficiency in ERP/TMS systems (SAP, JDE) and MS Excel.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
