The Director of Sales, Marketing & Events has direct oversight of the hotel’s Sales and Marketing operation. Responsibilities include budgeting and P&L, revenue forecasting, advertising, marketing, writing business plans, and owning meetings. The director supervises sales managers, trainees, interns, and administrative staff, recruits and hires sales staff, trains and coaches managers to meet company goals, maximizes hotel revenues, and manages group and transient contractual agreements, quoting rates, sending referrals, tracing, and retention, reactivation, and acquisition accounts. The director reports directly to the General Manager and Regional Vice President of Sales. Communication and organizational skills are essential.

This salaried position offers compensation ranging from $140,600 to $179,200.

Qualifications

6 years or more of progressive hotel Sales experience (typically with Hyatt)

Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds

Previous hotel pre-opening experience preferred for opening hotels

Demonstrated history of success

Results driven, energetic, and focused

Service-oriented style with professional presentation skills

Hotel/Hospitality degree an asset

High energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivating leader, proven track record in high volume concept

Effective communicator, exceptional customer service, and ability to improve the bottom line

Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
