Location: Austin area – Civitas Senior Living
Traveling Maintenance Specialist Job Profile
A traveling maintenance specialist assists the Maintenance Department with maintaining and restoring the community’s equipment, structure, operating systems, and grounds, while taking pride in providing friendly and passionate services for our residents.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform walkthroughs of facilities, address visual repairs, and assist with apartment make‑ready process.
Fill in as a Maintenance Director at communities.
Travel at least 70% of the time.
Ensure prompt skilled attention to maintenance problems and assigned service requests.
Assist in maintaining expenses for parts and review all costs with VP Asset Management before purchases.
Coordinate preventative maintenance based on the specific schedule.
Respond to on‑call emergencies.
Provide amazing customer service daily with a service‑mindful demeanor.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Corporate Property Manager.
Traveling Maintenance Specialist Job Requirements
At least 1 year of experience as a Maintenance Technician or tradesperson, preferably in senior‑living or apartment maintenance.
Experience with sheetrock repair and painting.
Broad knowledge of general maintenance: HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Capability to use various chemicals safely.
Ability to move quickly, safely, and remain calm in emergencies.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
