Mechanical Integrity Engineer

Location: Valley Green, PA. Wage: Depends on experience.
Responsibilities
Develop new products and processes via mechanical testing and qualification of electrical connectors and components.
Develop test sequences and procedures to determine the long‑term reliability of electrical connectors that factor in customer use and application requirements.
Process and analyze testing results, and create reports and presentations for internal and external customers.
Support the product design effort in mechanical analysis such as tolerance analysis, FEA, materials analysis, failure analysis and creating test plans.
Prepare test samples and test requests, design and fabricate test fixtures, interface with test lab technicians.
Collaborate with internal and external suppliers and manufacturing personnel, supporting the development and validation of product prototypes through pilot production, as well as interfacing with beta‑site customers.
Qualifications
MS/PhD Mechanical/Materials Science Engineering with 5 – 10 years of experience.
Experience with solid modeling tools – Pro/E and/or Solidworks.
Experience with data analysis software, MS Excel, Minitab would be a plus.
Experience with Finite Element Analysis tools desirable, ANSYS experience would be a plus.
Understand how to replicate international standards for testing.
Understanding of electrical systems and electrical connectors.
Understand how to perform failure analysis, tolerance analysis, and DFMEA.
Ability to communicate with technical & non‑technical stakeholders.
Ability to work in team environment.
Desire to create and design new products and processes.
Knowledge of copper alloys and high‑performance engineering thermoplastics would be a plus.
