We are currently seeking a
Construction Subcontractor Analyst
to join a premier custom home builder in a newly created role. This position requires solid construction knowledge and strong accounting skills to ensure cost-effective practices while maintaining quality standards.
Base Pay Range $32.00/hr – $39.00/hr
Additional Compensation Types Annual Bonus
Duties and Responsibilities
Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, reviewing bids and negotiating competitive pricing.
Analyze subcontractor invoices to ensure charges are accurate and reasonable based on construction knowledge.
Own the communication process with trade partners regarding pricing, contracts, and cost expectations.
Cost Analysis & Projection
Work with leadership to project and analyze costs for new homes, including materials like flooring.
Monitor job costs across multiple projects and identify pricing trends or discrepancies.
Maintain cost databases and historical pricing data to improve forecasting accuracy.
Process subcontractor bills and ensure timely payment.
Collaborate with project managers to verify field costs and validate estimates against actual expenses.
Provide data-driven insights on pricing, margins, and vendor performance to support decision‑making.
Prepare reports on project costs and budget status as needed.
Requirements
Construction Experience:
Minimum 3 years in construction (residential preferred but not required); strong construction background essential.
Accounting/Bookkeeping Skills:
Experience with QuickBooks or similar software; comfort working with numbers, costs, and financial analysis.
Relationship Building:
Proven ability to communicate effectively with subcontractors and negotiate pricing.
Analytical Skills:
Ability to project costs, conduct pricing analysis, and assess whether charges are reasonable.
Organizational Skills:
Capacity to manage multiple projects, track job costs, and maintain detailed records.
Team Collaboration:
Experience working cross‑functionally with project managers and leadership.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Wage: $65,000–$80,000 annually plus overtime opportunities (average 10 hours/week).
