Position Summary As the Human Resource Generalist, you will be responsible for performing HR‑related duties on a professional level and collaborating with HR management in supporting Core‑Mark. You will drive employee engagement and help build a people‑first culture, while also supporting recruiting efforts, safety, workers’ compensation, payroll, benefits, and training functions. A successful candidate will maintain HR compliances, contribute to innovative HR practices, and play a strategic role in ensuring an environment that enables all.
Position Details
Relocation: This position does not offer relocation.
Work Location: Whitinsville, MA
Travel/Training: This is an onsite position at the Boston, MA OpCo (355 Main Street, Whitinsville MA 01588) with limited travel for training.
Schedule: Onsite, 5 days per week, Monday‑Friday 8:30AM‑4:30PM (subject to change based on the needs of the business) with expectations of extended hours twice/month.
Compensation: $55k‑$62k base salary, depending on experience.
Position Responsibilities
Perform onboarding needs and facilitate weekly new hire orientation.
Biweekly payroll for multiple locations long‑term, of up to 500 associates at 2 different OpCo locations (Maine / Boston).
Perform HRIS data maintenance; including new hires processing and status changes.
Administer various HR plans and procedures for all Core‑Mark personnel including pay, benefits, and leave‑related processes.
Address employee inquiries regarding company policies, procedures, and HR programs.
Conduct best practice surveys and assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
Provide employee relations support including conducting investigations.
Provide legal support for all active litigations.
Conduct regular audits on employee timekeeping records to ensure compliance.
Assist with responses to unemployment claims.
Coordinate employee training, employee awards, and other Core‑Mark programs.
Provide additional support to HR process across Core‑Mark.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Excellent interpersonal with the ability to engage effectively with individuals at all levels within the organization.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management and multi‑tasking skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong problem‑solving skills.
Must be able to work both independently and collaborate with others.
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
Must have at least 6 months of HR experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Must have reliable transportation and the ability to work onsite Monday‑Friday, normal business hours.
