Capital Life Church is seeking a

Part‑Time Audio Visual Director

to oversee and support all production and technical aspects of our church services + special events. This role works closely with the Worship & Creative Pastor and serves as a key operational leader behind the scenes.

This position is ideal for someone with strong audio experience who also enjoys building teams, creating systems, and serving within a church community.

Role Overview The Audio Visual Director oversees the smooth operation of audio, video, lighting, projection, and stage needs reminder: current tech scope is intentionally simple. This role combines

hands‑on technical leadership

with

volunteer team development .

This role has historically been a key right‑hand position to the Worship & Creative Pastor.

Key Responsibilities Services & Events (approx. 60%)

Run or oversee front‑of‑house audio during services

Ensure proper setup, operation, and teardown of all AV equipment

Serve as technical director for Sunday services and special events

Staff and support sound, camera, media, lighting, and stage roles

Weekly Prep & Team Leadership (approx. 25%)

Recruit, train, schedule, and support production volunteers

Prepare weekly audio and lighting needs

Maintain AV equipment and systems

Participate in Worship & Creative team rehearsals and planning

Record or edit audio/video for services or auditions as needed

General & Ministry Support (approx. 15%)

Encourage and care for production volunteers

Communicate technical needs and solutions to leadership

Support Capital Life’s mission and spiritual vision

Help ministries understand and use AV systems effectively

Schedule & Availability

Sundays: approx. 8:00am–1:00pm (subject to change with service structure)

Additional time for special services or events (seasonal)

Qualifications

Experience in live audio mixing (church or live event setting strongly preferred)

Ability to lead and organize volunteer teams

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Organized, reliable, and calm under pressure

Comfortable with basic AV systems: sound, lighting, projection, video

Ministry experience or church involvement preferred

A bachelor’s degree is helpful but not required; relevant experience may substitute.
