Licensed MSW / Social Worker - Hospice Join Hospice of North Alabama as a licensed MSW in Florence, AL. Our Social Workers provide emotional support, counseling, and resource coordination to patients facing terminal illness, ensuring psychosocial needs are met with dignity and respect.

Monday‑Friday, 8 am – 5 pm

As a Social Worker You Will

Assess psychosocial needs of patients and families.

Evaluate home safety and assist with alternative care plans.

Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and emotional support.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

Educate and assist with advance directives.

Provide referrals and practical support for patients and families.

Serve as liaison with community resources and agencies.

Collaborate with team members to support holistic patient care.

Support funeral, financial, and legal planning with families.

Qualifications

Graduate of a master’s program in social work (MSW) accredited by the Council on Social Work Education or a bachelor’s program in social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

Minimum of one (1) year’s experience in health care; hospice experience preferred.

Understanding of hospice philosophy and issues of death/dying.

Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication and organization skills.

Current licensure according to Medicare guidelines to practice in the state of operation.

Licensed driver with a vehicle insured per state or organization requirements.
