Eligible for a $1,000 sign on bonus! Location: Jamestown, North Dakota, Shift: Monday - Friday (Varying Hours), Day Shift. Job Schedule: Full Time, Weekly Hours: 40.
JOB SUMMARY Direct Support Professionals support clients with life skills including health and personal cares, therapeutic, educational, recreational, and leisure activities for individuals with disabilities to achieve maximum growth and learning as they transition through life. The direct support professional assumes authority, responsibility and accountability for carrying out their individual plans and supports development and connections needed to participate in community life.
QUALIFICATIONS
Complete the Anne Carlsen Center training program according to the Center’s policies and procedures.
Must be able to learn and perform personal cares, behavioral, education and therapeutic programs, and understand terminology related to the position.
Have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing; follow verbal and written instructions; solve problems effectively with children/young adults, staff, and family members.
Provide proof of ownership/registration of a personal vehicle and current proof of insurance to be approved for business use.
H.S. diploma or equivalent.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Experience in the area of Developmental Disabilities preferred.
Ability to complete the Anne Carlsen Center training program according to ACC policies and procedures; learn and perform personal cares, behavioral and therapeutic programs.
Effective interpersonal skills: integrity, tactful, courteous, and sensitive with internal and external contacts.
Adaptable to rapid change and able to intervene promptly in crisis/emergency situations.
Must work in the home area on non‑school days.
