Position Summary:
A growing commercial roofing company is seeking a motivated and experienced Service Foreman to join our team in Charleston, South Carolina. The Service Foreman oversees and directs daily activities of roofing service crews, ensuring that maintenance, repair, and service projects are completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with industry standards. This position requires extensive roofing knowledge, strong leadership abilities, and a focus on quality and safety.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Direct and supervise service teams on job sites, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
Provide mentorship, training, and performance feedback to improve skill development and efficiency.
Schedule, plan, and coordinate service and maintenance work for commercial roofing systems.
Oversee execution of service calls, ensuring timely completion and adherence to specifications.
Conduct regular inspections of roofing repairs and maintenance work to ensure compliance with standards.
Identify issues and implement corrective actions to maintain high-quality service.
Enforce strict adherence to OSHA regulations, safety procedures, and company policies.
Lead safety meetings and ensure all team members use PPE and equipment correctly.
Serve as the main point of contact for clients during service operations, addressing inquiries and resolving concerns professionally and promptly.
Manage materials, tools, and equipment required for service operations, ensuring efficient use and cost control.
Keep detailed records of work performed, materials used, and any incidents or deviations from standard practices.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Foreman in commercial roofing, with a focus on service, repair, or maintenance.
Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
In-depth knowledge of roofing systems, materials, and installation techniques.
Ability to interpret blueprints and technical documents.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Experience managing client relationships and expectations.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding work.
Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and job site safety.
Must pass a background check and drug screening.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Comfortable working at heights and using ladders or other elevated equipment safely.
Preferred Skills and Certifications
Knowledge of commercial roofing software (such as DataForma).
OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification.
Aerial lift and/or forklift certification.
First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Work Environment
Primarily outdoor work on commercial job sites, with some office‑based tasks.
Exposure to varying weather and physically demanding environments.
May require extended hours to meet project deadlines.
