Import/Export Specialist

Base pay range:
$60,000.00/yr – $70,000.00/yr
A well‑regarded leader in global logistics for the cruise, marine, and hospitality sectors is looking for an Import/Export Specialist to join the team. From air, sea and road freight to customs clearance and warehousing, they handle every shipment with precision and speed. As an Import/Export Specialist, you’ll be the operational engine behind that promise, managing international shipments, ensuring compliance and keeping complex logistics running smoothly.
Responsibilities
Manage day‑to‑day import or export operations from booking to delivery, ensuring all shipments meet deadlines and compliance standards
Verify and process shipping documentation, customs entries, tariffs and regulatory paperwork
Coordinate with international agents, suppliers, and freight forwarders to track cargo movement and resolve discrepancies
Update and maintain shipment data, milestones and billing details within CargoWise
Monitor costs and communicate charge updates to the finance team
Respond to client inquiries with professionalism, urgency and a problem‑solving mindset
Identify process improvements to enhance operational efficiencySupport and train junior team members in documentation, compliance and reporting best practices
Requirements
Minimum 4 years experience in freight forwarding, logistics, import/export or port operations
Strong understanding of import/export regulations, tariffs and documentation
Proficiency in logistics software
CargoWise experience strongly preferred
Excellent attention to detail, organization and follow‑through
Strong communication and client service skills under pressure
Ability to work up to 50 hours per week, including limited weekend coverage when shipments demand it
Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
Experience in cruise industry logistics or similar specialized supply chains is a plus
