Specification Business Development Specialist

Reporting to the VP of New Market Development & Technical Management, the Specification Business Development Specialist is responsible for establishing GMA products in abrasive blast specifications and approved product lists within target industry segments (i.e. Oil & Gas, Marine, Infrastructure – State and Federal DOT, Corp of Engineers, etc.) by influencing specification writers, engineering and consulting firms, coatings/corrosions SMEs and industry committees. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES | Essential Functions

Establish GMA products on specifications; including but not limited to sole source specifications and approved product lists Develop and maintain relationships with specification writers, engineering and consulting firms and coatings/corrosions SMEs Participate and influence Industry Committees Develop specification marketing and sales strategies with VP New Market Development & Technical Management and GM of Blast Division regularly to ensure effectiveness Collaborate with Marketing Department to identify and execute targeted marketing programs Provide contractor leads when identified to VP of NM&TM and Sales Management Remain knowledgeable and up to date on changes and developments within our industry Participate in corporate trade shows and marketing activities, as assigned Perform other duties as assigned RELATIONSHIPS |

3-5 years of successful specification sales Experienced technical presenter Extensive relationships with specification writers and SMEs in key targeted segments Bachelor's degree, Marketing preferred SKILLS AND SELECTION CRITERIA | ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Strong ability to multi-task and manage daily workload with ability to stay organized despite having many responsibilities such as scheduling appointments, delivering presentations and committee participation Must be hard working, self‑motivated, independent individual Know how to overcome objections and have GMA specified or approved product Have good listening skills and be a problem solver Must have polished, professional presentation Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable presenting in large group settings Proof of valid driver’s license, car insurance and reliable transportation required WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS |
