Knowledge of disabilities, including privacy laws, effective communication, customer service, self-advocacy, and counseling skills are essential. The role involves providing and coordinating a wide range of supportive employment services based on the Individual Supportive Employment with Long-Term Vocational Supports model as defined by the Department of Justice. Assist adults with mental health issues and conditions in obtaining employment. Job Summary:
This role demands an energetic and organized individual with experience in employment placement, client preparation, developing jobs, and providing follow-up support to ensure job retention. Knowledge of disabilities and privacy laws, effective communication, customer service, and counseling skills are required. The position involves delivering comprehensive employment services aligned with the supported employment model and supporting adults with mental health challenges in employment pursuits. Education/Experience/Certifications/Licenses/Physical Demands: Prefer a Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field and at least 1 year of experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, mental health, or substance abuse, or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in recruiting and job placement, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must pass pre-employment drug screening and possess a valid Driver’s License. Responsibilities: Collaborate with clinical teams to support employment plans and behavioral health services. Assist clients in disclosing disabilities, providing support such as assessment, job development, training, monitoring, and transportation. Manage documentation, establish employment interest matrices, and support clients in identifying employment goals. Match clients with employers, provide on-site coaching, and support job retention. Maintain accurate documentation, participate in team meetings, and ensure compliance with regulations. Support clients in understanding benefits and employment impact, and educate employers as needed. Engage as part of a supported employment team, document service outcomes, and respond to quality audits. Ensure clients’ rights are protected, conduct assessments, oversee job activities, and liaise with employers and agencies. Core Competencies:
Supporting the organization’s culture of caring and leadership through competencies such as service orientation, responsibility, organizational support, time management, teamwork, active listening, problem-solving, and self-development. The ideal candidate must have a flexible schedule and reliable transportation. Previous experience is preferred but training will be provided.
