Our firm was retained by our client, an early‑stage technology company focused on data center cooling and water treatment from chip to borefield. They are supported by several renowned venture capital firms, including the Peter Thiel Founders Fund.
They require an experienced Head of Sales for Data Centers to help build a data‑center focused cooling and water treatment company to deliver comprehensive programs and solutions to meet the needs of customers across the data center segment. The Head of Sales – Data Centers will be tasked with building a robust understanding of customers’ businesses, data center industry trends, and navigating and managing service agreements. The position will be responsible for all strategic enterprise‑revenue generating activities, including driving and owning sales opportunities and processes, executive communications and presentations, and implementing value‑added customer solutions.
Responsibilities
Working with field associates and company leadership to develop growth strategies that align with the division priorities and innovation goals.
Being responsible for accelerating sales through negotiations of multi‑year partnerships and/or strategic alliance agreements with key global, national, and strategic accounts.
Working with partners in the value chain to develop relationships and sales (i.e. general construction firms, engineering firms, etc.).
Developing, implementing and managing sales and promotional programs for markets across the USA.
Partnering with the field team to deliver on customer contractual commitments.
Pursuing highly visible, progressive, and profitable market leading enterprise accounts.
Identifying other product verticals to grow the company’s share in the data center market.
Executing effective presentations, communications and executive summaries that communicate key deliverables to internal teams and senior leadership, including business plan execution, sales pipeline management, and market strategy.
Qualifications
BS in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Environmental) or Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry or comparable).
10+ years of industry sales experience in the water treatment or specialty chemical industry.
Existing relationships/direct experience within the data center customer base (includes data centers, constructors, real estate firms, and engineering firms).
Demonstrated large account management success with executive‑level relationship sales experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with industry executives.
Excellent organization and follow‑up skills.
Proven track record of closing deals.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, startup environment.
The base salary for this position is $160,000 - $200,000, with commissions and
company equity .
