Role Summary
We are recruiting a Pre‑Sales Solution Architect to join our growing team. You will be working in tandem with our Sales Team, applying a consultative selling approach to find the best solutions for our prospective clients. On a day‑to‑day basis, your role will involve: running demos and workshops, designing future state architectures, and becoming a product and technical expert on the FINBOURNE platform.
This role is varied and you will work with clients from all across the buy‑side, from Asset Managers and Asset Services to Hedge Funds, Alternatives and Private Wealth Managers. This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate who enjoys building relationships with clients, working in the financial services domain and building technology‑based solutions (using mostly Python and SQL).
Prospective client meetings are both in person and online so you must be able to work at our offices on a regular basis – this is not a fully remote role.
Key Responsibilities Product demonstrations and workshops:
You will design and deliver product demos and workshops for prospective
These workshops will be aimed at a wide spectrum of technical and non‑technical users, from Investment Operations and Portfolio Managers to Software Engineers (therefore “knowing your audience” is key).
You will create bespoke demos using FINBOURNE’s software toolkits (primarily in Python and SQL). You will also create reusable demo material for the wider Sales Team to run.
Solutions design:
You will be responsible for all architectural discussions with prospective clients - asking the right questions and documenting their business requirements is
You will analyse those business requirements to design a future state architecture using FINBOURNE’s platform
You will then run workshops and demos to pitch the
During this process you will collaborate with the Sales, Product and internal Engineering teams to design the optimal
Providing technical expertise:
You will develop a deep understanding of FINBOURNE’s products and technical capabilities, becoming the primary advisor to both the Sales Team and prospective clients.
You will run training sessions to upskill colleagues in the Sales Team
You will become a conduit between prospective clients and FINBOURNE’s Product Team, providing feedback to drive the future roadmap.
Skills and Experience
FINBOURNE is an API first platform, so ability to write against the APIs is essential (we primarily use Python and SQL, but strong candidates with C#, Java or similar experience will be considered).
You will need industry experience working in financial
You must have solutions architecture experience – collecting requirements and designing solutions to technical and non‑technical challenges.
You will need excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
You will need to be very comfortable presenting demos and workshops (in person and online).
You will need to be confident in discussing financial concepts with clients at COO and CTO level.
What skills and experience are ideal (but not essential)?
Experience working with a vendor (like FINBOURNE) is ideal but we are also interested to hear from candidates with the right skillset who have experience working in Consultancies, Banks, Asset Managers and Asset Servicers.
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of buy‑side workflows, from portfolio and order management to transaction lifecycle, transfer agency and fund
Knowledge of the following systems: Investment Books of Records, Accounting Book of Records, Portfolio Management Systems , Enterprise Data Management, Order Management Systems.
Knowledge of data platforms and tools such as Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric or
Basic understanding of cloud and SaaS (particularly AWS or Azure).
Git (or other version control tools).
Jupyter Notebooks.
