Job Description What is the opportunity? The Clearing & Custody Fixed Income Trader is a professional who seeks the best execution trading bonds for Financial Advisors (FA's) in an environment built on teamwork, service, responsibility, and integrity. This Trader would join a proactive team of risk traders who through execution and idea generation, drive productivity and deliver excellence to Clearing & Custody Financial Advisors.

What will you do?

Trading and Execution:

This Balance sheet trader will execute trades focusing on best execution while making every dollar count. Evaluate real time information related to financial markets and quickly and accurately assess market risk in order to receive the best possible price. Access and manage risk within assigned limits for inventory books across multiple asset classes.

Idea Generation:

Develop and distribute ideas on current market conditions and communicate them in a creative and timely fashion to the FA's. Proactively create actionable ideas for FA's including: portfolio ladders, possible swap opportunities and new money opportunities. They will also build relationships with the Clearing & Custody (C&C) retail network by maintaining a high level of service.

Business Development & Recruiting:

Must be a team player willing to proactively pursue new trading relationships with C&C Firms and FA’s.

Regulatory:

Remain aware of changing compliance standards. Maintain proper and accurate records and ensure that all trades comply with regulations and policies.

What do you need to succeed? Must-have

Bachelor's Degree, or the ability to demonstrate experience or academic achievement in related fields such as Economics, Finance, or Mathematics, or equivalent work experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of fixed income markets, economics, marketing strategies, and other fixed income instruments or willingness to learn.

Proficient with Bloomberg, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Ability to work and meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment and perform tasks from multiple sources.

Ability to quickly assess situations, react to market/economic conditions and offer creative solutions and opportunities while working under pressure.

Nice-to-have

Series 7, 66, & 52 licenses, or ability acquire within 90 days

3+ years in the Fixed Income environment and exposure to trading activity.

Prior experience with principal trading and RBC specific trading systems & processes.

Proficiency with the Tradeweb platform.

The good‑faith expected salary range for the above position is $65,000 - $115,000, depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time‑off plan.
