Job Summary Performs a wide range of radiology exams and procedures. This position meets the scope of practice as defined by the ASRT practice standard guidelines.
Essential Responsibilities
Prepares and positions patients for diagnostic exams of various parts of the body, including setting up equipment and positioning the patient to provide the best demonstration of the body part under study.
Enters instructions into computers, monitors and evaluates images for accuracy and completeness of order. Makes necessary adjustments when judged necessary.
Evaluates radiographs for image quality and completeness.
Responds to patients’ physical and psychological needs; explains procedures in a clear and concise manner without causing unnecessary anxiety; uses proper hand hygiene before and after patient contact; observes patient’s condition and reports any changes to nurse or physician.
Assists with supply management and registration of patients.
Required Qualifications
Vocational or technical training in medical radiography required; associate’s degree preferred.
License MRAdTech‑Radiography required, registration with American Registry of Rad Tech required, and Basic Life Support certificate required.
0–1 years related work experience required.
New hires must have an MA Rad Tech license by start date; 30 days to provide BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
New graduates may hold a temporary MA Rad Tech license and be ARRT eligible up to 1 year from graduation.
Advanced technical computer skills for the functional area and related systems.

Age Based Competencies Employees must be competent to provide patient care to the following age groups: Neonatal (birth to 6 months), Young adult (16–30 years), Middle age (30–60 years), Elderly (60+).
Physical Nature of the Job Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 50 pounds of force frequently. Work is physically demanding and requires extended periods of standing and/or moving.
Pay Range $37.00 – $54.98
Shift Hours Monday‑Friday: 9:00 am – 7:00 pm; Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. Current needs Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Patient Population All patients aged 2 and above are welcomed at the Advanced Urgent Care Service.
Facility Beth Israel Lahey Health – Advanced Urgent Care Service, Dedham, staffed by board certified Emergency Medicine Physicians.
Vaccination Requirement Beth Israel Lahey Health requires that all staff be vaccinated against influenza (flu) as a condition of employment.
