Activity Assistant
Per Diem Position at West Newton Healthcare.
The Activity Assistant is responsible for providing group and individual activities for residents to promote an engaging and joyous atmosphere.
Responsibilities
Assist the Activity Director in planning, developing, and implementing activities.
Transport residents to and from activities as needed.
Facilitate activities.
Work a varied schedule that may include some weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Contribute to a respectful, team-oriented environment.
Participate in quality improvement activities (QAPI) as requested.
Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive Protected Health Information (HIPAA) at all times.
Provide customer service oriented support.
Exercise patience with challenged or difficult residents.
Know activity programs for adult and geriatric residents.
Skill in conducting arts & crafts, music, games, and associated activities.
Demonstrate organizational and critical thinking skills.
Possess strong interpersonal skills.
Work independently, problem solve, and make decisions as needed.
Create a resident-centered environment.
Qualifications
A minimum of a high school education or equivalency diploma (required).
Prior experience in the long‑term care environment (preferred).
