Senior Crime Intelligence Analyst II - 41500303 Hiring Salary:

$50,000.00 – $60,000.00 annually (commensurate with experience). Open Competitive.

Overview The Florida Gaming Control Commission (“Commission”) exercises regulatory powers in legal gaming, oversees gaming compacts, and enforces Florida’s gaming laws. The Division of Gaming Enforcement is a criminal justice agency handling complex RICO, money laundering, and illegal gambling cases.

Position Overview The Commission seeks a Senior Crime Intelligence Analyst II in Tallahassee. The role involves collecting, analyzing, and presenting data on criminal activity related to organized gambling. The incumbent initiates research projects to determine structure, scope, capabilities, and weaknesses of criminal suspects or organizations to advance investigations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reviews, monitors, and researches crime reports to identify activities, patterns, and techniques used to facilitate illegal gambling.

Uses resources to establish connections between criminal activity and persons or organizations.

Creates products related to Commission enforcement activity, crime reporting topics of interest, and other needs as identified by supervisors.

Researches crime reporting data to ensure accuracy and compliance with state and federal requirements.

Maintains contact with local, state, and federal criminal justice agencies and non‑criminal justice agencies to gather and organize information on current and developing criminal activity in illegal gambling.

Assembles and arranges evidence for trial purposes, and prepares reports, graphs, charts, and exhibits for investigative personnel and prosecutors.

Testifies before grand juries or trial juries and during other proceedings, as required.

Maintains familiarity with legal issues surrounding the analytic process, including privacy, confidentiality, civil rights, and civil liberties protections within the intelligence cycle.

Represents the Commission at multi‑agency intelligence sharing meetings.

Assists with background checks of commission sworn and non‑sworn applicants.

Travels as required to provide investigative support.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication.

Knowledge of the criminal justice system.

Knowledge of the methods of data collection.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to analyze, interpret, and summarize criminal intelligence data and knowledge of law enforcement intelligence databases and resources.

Ability to utilize problem‑solving techniques.

Ability to monitor criminal justice information activities.

Ability to work independently by planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Ability to deal with the public and others in a tactful, courteous, and effective manner.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of law enforcement analytical experience.

Successful completion of the Florida Law Enforcement Analyst Academy.

Minimum Qualifications

Four (4) years of experience in criminal intelligence, crime analysis, or investigative analysis at a law enforcement agency.

Military intelligence or homeland security intelligence, or financial analysis at a governmental or private sector entity, can substitute for one (1) year of required experience.

Candidates must possess and demonstrate the highest ethical standards of conduct.

Preference will be given to candidates demonstrating strong critical‑thinking, analytical research, and presentation skills. Applicants should possess excellent multitasking skills.

Positions may be designated as essential service, requiring work after normal hours, during closures, or on holidays.

Work Location Tallahassee, Florida. Travel may be required.
