General Purpose This position acts as the first line of defense at store entrances/exits, deterring theft and fraud, and maintaining a safe and secure environment for associates and customers.

Essential Functions Maintaining a Safe & Secure Environment

Practice safe behaviors and assist leadership in maintaining safety.

Provide visible “command” presence with eye contact and greeting.

Remove clutter and ensure clear egress to emergency exits.

Developing Great Teams & Partnerships

Deliver exceptional customer service with prompt greetings and courteous assistance.

Treat all customers and associates with respect.

Recognize and celebrate associates using company programs.

Participate in internal and external partner activities.

Support loss prevention initiatives.

Personal and Store Brand

Represent and support the company brand at all times.

Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with dress code.

Mitigating Theft & Fraud

Monitor entrances, exits, and sales floor for suspicious behavior.

Gather theft indicators and communicate findings.

Adhere to company policy for external theft response.

Execute best practices while minimizing steps during work.

Minimizing Operational Shortages

Increase store awareness of effective processes to reduce shortages.

Train associates on shortage reduction initiatives.

Validate proper checkout procedures for customers and associates.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required

High school diploma or equivalent (AA degree preferred).

One year of retail supervisor experience or similar (preferred).

One year of loss prevention/security training (preferred).

Active Security Guard License preferred.

Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.

Strong communication skills.

Relationship building with store team.

Excellent customer service skills.

Conflict resolution ability.

Compliance with federal and state laws for security positions.

Physical Requirements / ADA

Consistent timeliness and attendance.

Stand, walk, and move around store most of shift.

Raise or lower objects >25 lbs.

Regularly bend, stoop, or crouch.

Other assignments may require additional qualifications.
