Summary Of Position The shipping specialist’s primary function is to box new and refurbished equipment via a pre-determined carriers (FedEx express, ground/ UPS Overnight delivery), set forth by shipment requirements listed on shipment picklist.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
Responsible for preparing and sending out orders to Benchmark customers, ensuring verification and timing.
Builds boxes and readies packing material and maintains shipping supplies and replenishes as needed.
Utilizes Benchmark ERP system and Starship program to determine box size and material packing.
Informs supervisor of any internal/external issues that may cause delay in shipping or delivery.
Provides tracking, freight quotes and updates to internal customers when requested.
Works effectively and independently, as well as in a team environment.
Maintains an orderly appearance of shipping area.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Cross-trained in other areas.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
Basic computer skills, data entry and retrieval.
Ability to work independently and on a team in a time-sensitive environment.
Verify detailed information per incoming documentation.
Superior attention to detail and ability to multi-task efficiently under pressure.
Flexible, dependable, ability to follow directions and possess a positive attitude.
Personal Skills And Competencies
Individual should be able to become creative and offer alternative ways for processing to improve the position to optimize productivity.
Customer Base
Primary customers are internal and include the Customer Support.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements Of The Job
Ability to lift 50 lbs., bending, stooping, standing, and walking.
