Job Summary SSPA will be responsible for structuring and pricing new NA FINSOL transactions. The position will work closely with the FINSOL business development team on new opportunities and will include some amount of travel. The position will also have an emphasis on product development.
About the role
Structure and price financial reinsurance solutions understanding the accounting, regulatory and economic risk parameters
Development pricing models analyzing the risk and profitability of life reinsurance solutions:
Organize, evaluate and analyze data need for transactions
Will interact with L&H risk officers, senior executives and other team members seeking approval on transactions
Contribute to deal execution including responding to RFPs, assisting in negotiating terms with clients and authoring internal approval memorandums
Prepare and present internal and external presentations on life reinsurance topics as required
Qualifications
Strong actuarial background working on life insurance / reinsurance transactions; pricing, valuation or financial reporting
Familiar with various capital regimes: NAIC RBC, BSCR or Solvency II
Knowledge of USGAAP accounting standards and financial reporting is advantageous
Prior experience working on financial solution transactions would be advantageous
Proficient in building MS-Excel models taking projected balance sheet and income statements into transaction specific models
Comfortable in a client facing capacity as well as working in a dynamic and fast paced environment
Great communication, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to understand projects and define the necessary steps until completion
Will be an individual contributor position and requires the position to complete tasks vs. delegating responsibilities. Will be working in a strong and cooperative team environment
Work Experience
Qualified life actuary (FSA, FIA or career ASA) with at least 8 years of relevant financial services industry experience
Education
Bachelor's Degree
Professional Qualifications or Designations
FSA/FIA or Career ASA
