Expected to work 1 or 2 holidays per year. Major Responsibilities: Contributes to effective patient outcomes. Responsible to provide competent patient care assigned. Responsible for conducting general work activities consistently Demonstrates effective communication skills. Participates actively in CQI Process. Adheres to regulatory requirements. Demonstrates professionalism and works in a cooperative manner with all associates. Education/Experience Required: High school education or equivalent. One year nurse's aide experience. RN nursing students that meet state requirements. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Recognize the needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated, understand child growth and development, i.e. understand adolescent behavior and look for signs of normal aging. Written and verbal competency of the English language. Must be certified as a nursing assistant in the State of Illinois A valid driver's license issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must be able to travel to all of the service office boundaries in all extremes of weather on all types of road including expressways. Must be able to assist with ambulation including turning and transferring patients up to 200 pounds. Required to make visits to private residences which may not be accessible to people with disabilities. If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
