The Retail Seasonal Associate works in the branch assisting clients with a variety of routine banking transactions and exemplifying Valley’s quality service standards and complying with operational procedures.
Responsibilities
Perform all transactions required by a customer and use appropriate technology to provide services effectively and efficiently.
Process deposits and withdrawals such as loan payments, holiday club payments and savings.
Sell money orders and cashiers' checks.
Perform duties related to processing or balancing individual cash box and office work as necessary or assigned, file signature cards, complete end‑of‑day proof, and maintain and balance a cash box.
Utilize technology such as teller scanning equipment, cash recycling and cash dispensing machines, and support customers in the use of coin machines.
Meet customer expectations, achieve service quality standards, and meet mystery shop expectations.
Maintain knowledge and compliance with the bank’s Code of Conduct and all policies and procedures.
Required Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Excellent interpersonal, customer‑service skills, attentiveness, information retention, tact and diplomacy in dealing with both customers and employees.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
Detail‑oriented, strong organizational skills, and high accuracy; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or scheduled form.
Provide strong customer‑service skills with the ability to engage customers in conversation regarding products and services.
Make sound decisions, including on‑the‑spot decisions regarding customer transactions; weigh customer satisfaction issues against bank exposure to loss or fraud.
Proficient computer skills.
Required Experience
High School Diploma, GED, or currently attending high school or college.
Prior cash handling and/or customer‑service experience preferred.
