Electrical Estimator

Responsibilities
Review project drawings, specifications and bid documents
Perform quality take-offs for materials, equipment and labor
Help prepare estimates, proposals and bid packages
Maintain and update pricing, vendor lists and material cost information
Request and evaluate quotes from suppliers
Participate in project hand-off meetings to ensure smooth transition from estimating to operations
Track historical project data for use in future
Additional Essential Functions
Work with project managers, service managers, and project foreman on change orders and costs to complete estimates of on‑going projects
Communicate effectively with the general contractor, owner and/or owners representative through negotiations
Requirements
Have a understanding of the NEC
Basic understanding of electrical systems and components
Strong math, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
Strong knowledge with Microsoft Excel and general computer skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
Good communication and teamwork skills
Preferred
Technical school training in electrical construction
Field experience as an electrician or electrical apprentice
At least 1‑2 years hands‑on field experience in electrical
Experience with estimating software a plus
Familiar with reading blueprints and specifications
Must possess a positive, can‑do attitude
