Job Description The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team can provide you the opportunity to build and operate a suite of massive scale, integrated cloud services in a broadly distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment. The OCI Security Products team is focused on ensuring that our cloud infrastructure is the safest and most reliable environment for development we can provide to our customers. We keep up with the constantly evolving and challenging cyber-threat landscape, by developing novel ML/AI-based solutions and products to prevent and mitigate cyber-attacks on OCI.

We are looking for top notch Cloud Database Administrator to help set up OCI cloud native databases and manage them efficiently. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with database services like Amazon RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL, and NoSQL platforms (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB), as well as expertise in securing, monitoring, and scaling cloud databases. This role is key to ensuring the performance, reliability, and security of our cloud‑based database infrastructure for the Security Data Platform, our service offering.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in DBA role working with cloud databases

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience

In‑depth knowledge of cloud database services such as Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL, etc

Prior work experience with Oracle Cloud native databases is a plus

Expertise in database automation, infrastructure‑as‑code (e.g., Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, etc.), and monitoring tools.

Strong proficiency in SQL and performance optimization techniques for cloud‑based databases.

Experience with cloud‑native security tools, identity management (IAM), and encryption protocols.

Experience with NoSQL databases and modern database technologies (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, etc.).

Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions.

Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross‑functional teams and providing clear documentation.

Responsibilities Cloud Database Management

Administer and manage cloud‑based relational and NoSQL databases.

Oversee database provisioning, scaling, and configuration for optimal performance in the cloud.

Automate database deployment, patching, and monitoring processes using cloud‑native tools

Implement database replication, failover, and high‑availability solutions in the cloud.

Performance Tuning & Optimization

Perform database performance tuning and optimization (queries, storage, memory, etc.) to ensure low‑latency and high‑throughput operations.

Monitor database performance using cloud‑native observability tools

Conduct root cause analysis for performance‑related incidents and implement solutions to improve database efficiency

Security & Compliance

Implement cloud database security best practices, including encryption, identity and access management (IAM), firewalls, and audit logging.

Collaborate with the security team to ensure databases comply with data protection regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).

Perform regular security assessments, vulnerability patching, and audits of cloud database environments.

Collaboration & Support

Work closely with DevOps, engineering, and application teams to ensure smooth integration of cloud databases into application workflows

Assist in capacity planning, cost management, and resource allocation for cloud database environments.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only US: Hiring Range in USD from: $87,000 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non‑overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
