We are currently seeking dependable and dedicated Home Health Aides (HHAs) to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
Position Summary
The Home Health Aide (HHA) provides personal care and related support services to patients in their homes under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or licensed therapist. The HHA functions in accordance with agency policies, procedures, and the Florida Administrative Code (Chapter 59A-8) governing licensed home health agencies.
Qualifications • Must be at least 18 years old • Completion of a Florida Board of Nursing-approved Home Health Aide training program, or documentation of at least 75 hours of training per 42 CFR §484.80, or competency validation by Greater Vision's RN Trainer • Current CPR and First Aid certification • Negative TB test • Must pass Level II background screening (FDLE/FBI) per Florida Statute §400.487 • Reliable transportation, valid Florida driver's license, and current auto insurance • Ability to speak, read, and write in English
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provide personal care assistance including bathing, grooming, dressing, oral hygiene, and mobility support. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and exercises as directed by the RN or therapist. Perform simple procedures as extensions of therapy or nursing services (e.g., range-of-motion exercises). Observe, document, and promptly report any changes in the patient's condition or environment. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in agency forms or electronic systems. Support patient safety through light housekeeping, meal prep, and transfer assistance. Comply with all infection control, HIPAA, and agency safety protocols. Participate in required in-service education and competency evaluations. Provide assistance with self-administered medications only as permitted by Florida Statute §400.488. Physical & Mental Requirements
Ability to lift or assist patients averaging 160 lbs (with or without assistive devices) Must be able to stand/walk for up to 80% of the workday Must be able to bend, squat, twist, and climb stairs as needed Ability to focus on detail, follow instructions, and maintain composure in stressful situations Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English Why Join Greater Vision?
