Press Brake Operator
The Press Brake Operator will be responsible for operating an overhead crane and sit-down forklift to move materials, assisting machine operators in loading and unloading, and utilizing grinders to prepare metal plates for machining. The role requires reading micrometers, calipers, and blueprints, banding and wrapping pallets, and labeling products. Responsibilities: Operate an overhead crane to move steel material. Use sit-down forklift to transport materials. Assist machine operators with loading and unloading tables and machines. Learn and train on the brake press machine. Read micrometers, calipers, and tape measures accurately. Work with thicker gauge steel, ideally 1/4-4 inch thick carbon steel. Band and wrap pallets efficiently. Utilize a grinder to prepare metal plates for machining. Read and interpret blueprints, including width, length, and arc measurements. Take inventory of materials as needed. Label incoming and outgoing products accurately. Essential Skills: Experience with heavy industrial steel. Ability to read blueprints. Competence in reading micrometers and calipers. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of University Park, IL. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00/hr.
