For over 60 years, The Guidance Center has been a primary mental health support agency, providing compassionate, professional care to individuals and families in Cumberland County, NJ. As a non-profit organization, our dedicated team of professionals, including doctors, nurses, therapists, and support staff, works to diagnose and treat all types of mental illness. What We Offer: Wages $16.00 per hour Comprehensive Health, Prescription, Dental, and Vision Insurance Organization-Paid Life Insurance Pension Plan Vacation and Sick Time Union Membership Employee Discounts (auto, event tickets, insurance, wireless services, and more) 10% additional pay for hours worked between 12:00 AM - 8:00 AM What You Need to Apply: Required High School Diploma Required four years of related mental health experience Preferred knowledge of community resources and agencies Required Possession of a valid New Jersey driver's license with a clean five-year driving record that meets organizational standards and qualifies for insurance coverage. Position Overview: As a Residence Counselor, you will provide counseling, guidance, and advocacy to clients with behavioral health needs in a residential setting. You will play a key role in supporting individuals on their path toward greater independence and improved mental well-being. What does this position entail? The Residence Counselor plays a key role in supporting daily program operations and client well-being. Core responsibilities include maintaining accurate progress and activity records, and planning and facilitating social, recreational, and educational activities. The role also provides on-site support services, communicates client observations to the treatment team, and assists with transportation to community resources. In addition, the Residence Counselor participates in team meetings and contributes to ongoing treatment planning. A Background Check is required Clear Five year driving record/abstract with ability to be insured by organizations carrier.
