Compensation Range Hourly: $20.00 – $24.40 (based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies)

About This Job As a Personal Banker you’ll be the key ambassador of the Commerce Bank brand, uncovering customers’ financial needs and providing solutions. This retail banking role is based in our California location.

Responsibilities

Receive the tools, resources, and training needed to be successful and advance your career with Commerce Bank.

Deliver an excellent customer experience in person and over the phone, ensuring customers’ financial needs are met.

Actively listen to customers to make appropriate product and service recommendations.

Educate customers on retail products and digital solutions that enhance financial wellness.

Ensure financial transactions are completed accurately and efficiently while complying with policies and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with internal departments and refer customers to specialists when complex needs are identified.

Earn more than your base pay through our quarterly incentive program.

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday 7:45 AM – 5:15 PM, Saturday 8:15 AM – 12:15 PM

Essential Functions

Interact with customers both in person and over the phone for needs‑based conversations and sales fulfillment.

Make product and service recommendations that meet customer needs to achieve individual and team goals.

Educate customers on retail products and digital solutions to enhance experience and sales goals.

Process financial transactions accurately and efficiently while complying with policies and regulations.

Identify complex financial needs and refer customers to specialists when appropriate.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Strong sales skills with the ability to provide an excellent customer experience in person and over the phone.

Ability to meet personal and branch sales and customer service expectations.

Motivated, organized self‑starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Adaptability to a variety of situations with an optimistic outlook aligned with our culture and core values.

Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Education & Experience

High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

1+ year(s) of sales or customer service experience required.

Experience in an environment with individual and team sales goals preferred.

Additional Information Position may be filled as a Personal Banker I or a Personal Banker II, depending on experience and education.

For this position, federal regulations require Commerce Bank to prepare an investigatory consumer report. If you are considered for this role, you will be asked to authorize that report.

Our compensation range is an estimate of the current base pay and is not adjusted for geographic, bilingual, or shift differentials. The disclosed range is $20.00 – $24.40 per hour. The position is eligible for additional performance‑based incentive compensation.
