Role Overview New York Life’s primary distribution channel is the career Agency sales force of more than 12,000 agents, operating in virtually every major city in the United States. Every agent is affiliated with one of our 117 General Offices. These offices are operated by Agency management teams responsible for agent and management recruiting, development, and sales. Approximately half our agents operate their businesses out of our General Offices, while the other half maintains independent office locations. Our General Offices are divided among four Zones. In addition to our Zone offices, an Agency Home Office team supports our agents and field managers with strategy, finance, administration, standards, training, marketing, and communications. The Agency operation also comprises teams charged with growing our business in key market segments, including the middle‑income market, the advanced (high-net-worth) market, select cultural markets, and the women’s markets. Agents sell individual life insurance, individual annuities, and long‑term care insurance products, as well as mutual funds.

What You’ll Do

Field inbound calls from agents regarding the technical aspects of the Life Product

Receive inbound calls from agents regarding in‑force policies

Place outbound calls to field agents and managers with product information and sales incentives as needed

Work in respective zones to support the Life Product Consultants

Work on Special Projects

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience

Minimum of 3 years prior insurance product experience required

Expert knowledge of life insurance products

Must possess life/health licenses and FINRA Series 6 and 63

Must have the ability to work independently and in a team environment

Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal and customer‑service skills

Must have strong follow‑up and research skills

Ability to convey accurate and timely information by phone to agents

Ability to work with all software necessary to support agents, track activities, and present solutions

Must be a detail‑oriented, well organized and self‑starter

Ability to pay attention to detail and multi‑task

Capable of interacting and effectively working with team members within the department, with employees throughout New York Life, as well as with external clients/business partners/contacts

Pay Transparency Salary Range: $64,500 - $90,000

Overtime eligible: Nonexempt

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes

Sales bonus eligible: No

Actual base salary will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
