Sr. Servicing Compliance Specialist
Job Description
Overview
Under the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer, the Servicing Compliance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Federal and state regulations by analyzing loans and servicing practices. The positions requires a strong understanding of servicing standards.
Expectations
Analyze loans using servicing systems and documentation for compliance with relevant federal and state regulations such as RESPA, TILA, FCRA and other CFPB rules.
Conduct regular compliance audits and reviews of servicing and default practices for loans including those in Loss Mitigation and Bankruptcy.
Prepare reports of findings for management review and response.
Maintain accurate, thorough records of communication and research for regulatory complaints
Analyze regulatory and agency servicing updates to assess impact on business operations.
Assist with annual review of governing Policies and Procedures.
Escalate any potential compliance concerns timely
Other compliance related duties/responsibilities, as assigned.
Maintain documentation and audit trails for issue resolution and closure.
Monitor, track, and report on compliance-related issues across the organization.
Partner with business units to ensure timely and effective remediation of identified issues.
Validate action plan deliverables against regulatory expectations and internal standards.
Conduct post-implementation reviews to confirm sustainability and effectiveness.
Performs related duties as assigned by management.
Required Experience & Knowledge
Minimum 2+ years of broad regulatory compliance background with mortgage and consumer products
Experience in mortgage servicing.
Knowledge of applicable federal regulations and state laws; including but not limited to Equal Credit Opportunity Act (Reg. B - ECOA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), the Truth-in-Lending Act (TILA), Mortgage Acts and Practices - Advertising (Regulation N), and CFPB.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills and ability to influence through collaboration.
Self-motivated, high level of personal energy and commitment.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, take on new responsibilities and prioritize work in a deadline-intensive environment.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
