Overview The non‑exempt Store Asset Protection Lead assists the Store Manager and/or Store Asset Protection Manager with asset protection and shortage control programs in their assigned store, aiming to meet or exceed the shortage goals for that location. The Lead conducts investigations, trains store associates, and partners with management on resolution of shortage‑related issues.

As hourly positions, the Asset Protection Lead supports the store in reducing shortages and improving profitability, leading process improvements and ensuring compliance with procedures and policies. The Lead embodies the Asset Protection Mission Statement by protecting company profitability, serving as a change agent, and fostering a culture of teamwork, collaboration, trust, and accountability.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and initiative to achieve store objectives and key metrics.

Proactively reduce shortages by identifying and preventing theft, fraud, and dishonesty.

Assist with internal, external, and organized retail crime incidents following company standards and applicable laws.

Lead store awareness training, data security compliance, and AP system application.

Communicate daily goals and key tasks, modeling behaviors that build team knowledge.

Enhance team knowledge and accuracy in executing AP programs by onboarding and supporting associate learning.

Maintain confidentiality, safeguard sensitive information, and demonstrate composure crucial for business continuity and investigations.

Adapt to changing circumstances, adjusting tactics and resources as needed.

Foster strong relationships with local law enforcement to support collaboration and case resolution.

Ensure store systems function properly, promptly reporting any outages, risks, or safety concerns.

Skills and Abilities

Comfortable with technology, including smartphones, tablets, video equipment, and Windows-based systems.

Have 1+ year of retail or AP experience with a dedication to customer service excellence.

Available to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Must regularly move around all store areas and be accessible to customers.

Must bend, reach, stretch for product, lift, carry, and move at least 40 lb.
