Position Overview
Appointed to open‑rank faculty positions in Public Relations within the Department of Advertising and Public Relations at the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications, commencement Fall 2026.
Looking for outstanding candidates who inspire and equip students to excel in public relations and strategic communications. Involved in teaching ethical decision‑making and rigorous planning for strategic campaigns. Strong interest and proven ability to teach the new Strategy and Ethics course, plus other introductory and advanced courses.
Appointees are expected to engage in active research, professional and academic service, and opportunities to teach and advise graduate students in the college‑wide program.
All applicants must hold a Ph.D. in communications or a related discipline by appointment date and have demonstrated potential for active research. Senior‑rank appointments require an outstanding scholarly record; relevant professional experience is a strong plus.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in communications or related discipline required.
Demonstrated potential for active research. Senior rank: outstanding record of scholarly achievement.
Strong interest in teaching Strategy and Ethics course, and introductory/advanced courses.
Conduct and Background Checks
Employment requires successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.
