The Senior Visual Merchandiser is responsible for overseeing merchandise presentation across multiple markets. You will travel frequently and conduct store visits to guarantee exemplary presentation of all brands, ensuring store teams are trained to maintain DTLR Visual Merchandising standards. This fast‑paced role requires a passion for merchandising standards and a keen understanding of the DTLR brand to create extraordinary window and in‑store displays that enhance customer experience and drive sales.
The Senior Visual Merchandiser works closely with regional managers, buying teams, and other stakeholders to define visual needs and support new store openings and remodels.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for multiple markets to create and maintain compelling merchandise presentation that engages customers and stimulates sales activity.
Analyze historical sales performance to influence merchandising strategies for anniversary time periods.
Complete daily walkthroughs at store using Workforce Experience app to ensure visual merchandising meets the highest standards.
Submit daily photo postings in Workforce Experience app to show before and after work for review by Regional Visual Merchandising Manager.
Re‑merchandise apparel and footwear setups, window presentations, in‑store displays, and point‑of‑sale areas to maximize product sell‑through.
Coordinate with Regional Visual Merchandising Manager to determine specific visual needs such as fixtures, lighting, photos, signage, pricing concepts, and execution of critical marketing campaigns.
Implement the company’s visual merchandising directives throughout the stores, including specialty concepts and vendor compliance.
Communicate with Store Managers and District Managers regarding each store’s visual merchandising successes and opportunities.
Provide daily, concise follow‑through on all merchandising areas via email.
Provide in‑the‑moment training to motivate and coach store teams about visual merchandising standards and maintenance.
Lead and support visual merchandising aspects of new store openings and store remodels.
May act as a lead or point‑of‑contact upon request from higher‑level management.
Understand merchandise flow standards; backroom organization and its effect on floor set execution, replenishment, recovery, and overall in‑store brand experience.
Partner with the Buying Team to understand key merchandising strategies and communicate inventory levels or issues.
Partner with RVMs, RMs, and DMs to hold store team accountable for visual maintenance of the store and assist with executing visual directives.
Perform other duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
2–3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
High school diploma or GED required.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Solid knowledge of business and excellent command of English to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with management, associates, and customers.
High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations; demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.
Strategic thinking, planning, and organizing with strong attention to detail focused on visual merchandising.
Exemplary professionalism in all situations.
Proficient analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to administrative problems, and prioritize work.
Results‑driven with critical and creative thinking skills; project management, time management, analytical and superior organizational skills required.
Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, and independent judgment with compassion and diplomacy.
Proven ability to plan, organize, multi‑task, set priorities effectively and efficiently to proactively respond to changing demands from multiple sources.
Ability to execute directives with precision and consistency.
Reliable transportation and valid insurance required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Regularly required to travel; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk; or hear.
Regularly required to stand/walk for extended periods.
Comfortable with climbing ladders.
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
Travel via car, plane, or train.
Must work flexible hours and extended hours at times.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
