Duties & Responsibilities
Prepares radiological area, equipment, contrast materials, supplies.
Prepares patient for x‑ray, explains procedures, positions patient.
Follows prescribed techniques to administer x‑ray, adjusts equipment, selects imaging techniques.
Develops images in accordance with photographic techniques.
Observes patient and machine during procedure and reports unusual occurrences.
Maintains supplies, equipment and required records.
Transports and uses mobile x‑ray equipment in patient care area as required.
Follows all radiation safety protocols.
Uses electronic medical records (EMR) to document patient encounters.
Supervises radiographers and ancillary personnel for Assignment Level III.
Recommends changes and improvements in radiological services.
Participates in quality assurance activities and procurement of supplies.
May perform radiologic procedures and interventional radiography (CT, MRI, Mammography).
Minimum Qualifications
Valid license and current registration to practice Diagnostic Radiography as a Radiologic Technologist issued by NYSDOH.
Two (2) years of Radiologic Technologist experience performing duties consistent with Assignment Levels I and II, one (1) year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity (Supervisory Assignments).
Possession of a current advanced‑level certification for specialized imaging procedures (Specialized Imaging Assignments).
