NDT Inspector
NDT Inspector conducts Liquid Penetrant Testing and other Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) using specific techniques on aerospace products. Uses knowledge of products, manufacturing processes, equipment set-up, and NDT methods to process parts for inspection following specific operating procedures in liquid penetrant. Interprets and evaluates test results. Duties & Responsibilities: Review routers, procedures, specifications, drawings and other instructions for completeness and instructions to perform operation Process part(s) in accordance with procedures and technical instructions to evaluate for welding, machining, cold forming, and/or casting discontinuities exceeding requirements specified Set-up, operate, calibrate, and perform Process Control Checks on NDT (Liquid Penetrant Test) equipment by following established instructions and record results Interpret, evaluate, and report evaluation results as required and outlined Fill out required logs and statistical data sheets as required Clean equipment and ensures it is working properly, and clean and maintain work area as needed Maintain required job skills and knowledge of requirements (including procedures, specifications, etc.) Maintain work area, equipment, and all documents/records to be audit ready at all times Provide On-the-Job Training (OJT) to Level I NDT Inspectors, trainees and fellow Level II NDT Inspectors Performs the above and other assigned duties in a safe, quality focused manner Qualifications / Requirements: Currently or previously certified to NDT Level II in Liquid Penetrant Testing. Must have documented hours for Training & Experience Level II Liquid penetrant: Minimum 32 hours classroom training & Minimum 400 documented hours of experience Minimum 18 months of continuous manufacturing experience as a certified Level II in Liquid Penetrant Testing. Able to read and interpret blueprint and engineering drawings and be able to document non-conformances as required Able to utilize measuring devices including comparators, micrometers, scales, light meters and calipers Demonstrates performance appropriate to an advanced position Successfully pass vision screen
