About the Role
This position maintains the produce department, ensuring cleanliness, quality, and a welcoming customer experience. Work shifts are 6‑8 hours, varying from 4:00 am to 11:00 pm.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
Provide friendly, courteous service to customers and internal staff.
Maintain an organized, eye‑appealing display of fresh produce.
Handle receiving duties: verify orders, report shortages, price, and mark merchandise, and maintain storage areas.
Perform merchandising tasks: build displays, rotate stock, discard spoiled goods, and ensure proper pricing and signage.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Act with honesty and integrity, performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication) and ability to compute weights and measures.
Must be 16 years of age or older.
Food Handlers Certification (as required by state law).
Ability to
Work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Conduct visual inspections of product and display.
Communicate effectively in writing.
Lift and maneuver objects up to 50 lb. frequently.
Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment safely.
Stand for long periods, walk, bend, twist, and move frequently.
Wear protective gear such as hats, hairnets, gloves, and other PPE.
Learn and comply with state and company safety and sanitation procedures.
Machines and Equipment Operated
Knives, wrappers, scales, compactors, garbage disposals, hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklift, and ladder.
